Fire breaks out in Sundarbans’s Chandpai Range for the fourth time in a month
A fire has broken out in the eastern part of the Sundarbans for the fourth time since late March.

The forest department said the fire was reported around 3:45 pm on Wednesday near the Chandpai Range’s Dhansagar Station.
Assistant Conservator Belayet Hossain, posted in the range, could not pinpoint the cause of the fire.
He said forest department staff were trying to put it out.
Earlier, on Mar 27, Apr 13 and 18, fires were reported near Dhan Sagar Station’s Nangli Forest Camp. The authorities attributed them to acts of arson.
The forest department has initiated two cases at a Bagerhat court over the suspected arson.
