Rain in Sylhet, heat wave plays extra time in rest of Bangladesh

Sylhet is soaking in rain but the rest of Bangladesh is sweltering under a blistering heat wave showing no sign of relenting anytime soon.

The mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Dinajpur, Syedpur and Chandpur and it may continue, the Met Office says.
 
Tuesday’s highest temperature was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.
 
Dhaka’s highest temperature was 36.6 degrees Celsius and Chittagong 33.8 degrees Celsius.
 
According to Wednesday’s forecast by the Meteorological Department, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Sylhet division. 
 
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
 
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
