Titas Gas General Manager (Vigilance Division) Mir Moshiur Rahman has been made the stand-in MD after the removal of Islam on Sunday.

"I learnt about the matter in the evening. I may have to take charge tomorrow (Monday)," Rahman said.

Requesting anonymity, an official at the Petrobangla, parent company of Titas Gas, told bdnews24.com a termination letter was sent to Islam.

The fire at the Banani house burnt one and several others were injured in panic rush early on Friday.

The residents alleged they complained about the gas line leak hours before the fire had started but Titas Gas paid no heed.
