The premier makes the call at the inaugural ceremony of the two-day Livestock Services Week and Exhibition-2024
Dhaka’s Fifth Additional and Sessions Judge Jewel Rana delivered the verdict on Monday in the presence of the convicts -- Kuzrat Ali, Abdur Rauf, Md Wazuddin and Selamuddin.
According to the case statement, the convicts strangled Md Selim after making him drink alcohol in a boat on Jul 15, 2004. Later, his body was thrown on the bank of Marichartek canal.
The victim’s elder brother Md Islam filed a case with the local police the following day.
The court also fined each of the victims Tk 10,000.
They were sent to jail after the verdict was declared.
