Perform duties with sincerity and dedication, PM tells Ansar men
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) to perform their duties sincerely and courageously to ensure the security of citizens.

She made the call while inaugurating the 36th national convention of the force at Ansar Academy at Gazipur’s Shafipur on Thursday.
The prime minister said, “It is your responsibility to ensure safety and security of the lives and property of the people. You have to work with honesty, dedication, sincerity and courage to carry out this duty.”
She praised the Ansar and VDP personnel for their role in maintaining law and order during the anti-government agitations.
Hasina said the force had played important roles during all critical junctures of the nation’s history since its formation on Feb 12, 1948.
At the event, the prime minister handed over Bangladesh Ansar Medal, President Ansar Medal and Bangladesh VDP Medal to several members of the force for their outstanding performance.
