New Indian high commissioner calls on foreign minister

New Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali at the foreign ministry on Tuesday.

They discussed the issues of bilateral and regional interest, officials at the foreign ministry said.

Ali welcomed the new envoy to Bangladesh and assured him of his cooperation.

Shringla presented his credentials on Jan 19 and vowed to take the relations to a new height.

He had said that he was looking forward to working with the government of Bangladesh “to realise the full potential” of India-Bangladesh relations.
