New British envoy assures easing visa for Bangladeshis
New British High Commissioner Alison Blake has assured the foreign minister of her “cooperation” to make visa processing easier for Bangladeshis.

She called on Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Tuesday.
The foreign ministry said the minister highlighted the role of Bangladesh diaspora in the UK and urged the High Commissioner to make the visa processing easier for Bangladeshi nationals.
The envoy also acknowledged the role of Bangladeshi diaspora and said they were contributing to the bilateral relations.
She assured the minister of her cooperation on the visa issue, the foreign ministry said.
The foreign minister also called the UK a “long and tested friend” of Bangladesh, as he discussed different aspects of bilateral relations with the new envoy.
Since October 2014, visa applications submitted in Bangladesh are being assessed by the visa centre of the British High Commission in New Delhi.
