Just two years after his release from a previous conviction, he is reportedly back to his criminal activities
Abdul Jalil Mondol issued the warning during a Chittagong Metropolitan Police meeting at Damparha police lines on Friday.
“Your power is limited and legally bound,” he said, addressing the police force.
“Please don’t point batons or guns. That is unacceptable. You’ll have to have respect the people while serving them. Do so, and you’ll find friends in them,” he said.
“There is no space for malpractice in the CMP. We monitor everything. Media also keep an eye on the police,” he said.
Around 800 members of his force were present.
Mondol said, “Police have been formed to serve the people, not to harass them.”
