Fire service officials said the fire started on the second floor of the 16-storied building around 12:45 pm on Friday.
There was no report of any casualty yet.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage to property could not be immediately known.
Mizanur Rahman, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, told bdnews24.com that one of their units had brought the fire under control.
“It did not pose any big danger,” he said.
