India translating Bangabandhu’s unfinished autobiography in Hindi

After Japan and China, India is translating Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s unfinished autobiography in Hindi.

India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj informed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam about the move when he called on her in New Delhi on Thursday.
 
The foreign ministry said they discussed bilateral issues including connectivity, and hydro-power projects through sub-regional cooperation mechanism.
 
They also expressed hope that the issues relating to the sharing of waters would be resolved “soon”.
 
Swaraj also mentioned the Indian government’s initiative to translate the autobiography into Hindi.
 
The personal diary of Bangladesh’s founding father hit the stands as a book in 2012 in both Bangla ‘Aushamapto Atmajiboni’ and English ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’.
 
Bangabandhu penned this during his time in jail from 1967-69.
 
Spain has also proposed to translate this into the Spanish.
 
The state minister was in India to attend the international conference on counter-terrorism in Jaipur that ended on Wednesday.
 
Swaraj, during the Thursday’s meeting, expressed her country’s strong resolve to work jointly with Bangladesh in fighting the menace of terrorism and violent extremism.
 
She particularly praised the contribution of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in fighting terrorism.
 
“On every platform, India will extend support to Sheikh Hasina’s government whole-heartedly,” she was quoted by the foreign ministry as saying.
