He visits the injured man in hospital and vows to bring the perpetrators to justice
The association issued a rejoinder on Saturdaytaking serious exception to the comment.
Police chief AKM Shahidul Hoque had demanded a separate division for his force in the home ministry at a programme at Ganabhaban on the Police Week on Jan 27.
BNP leader Rahman on Friday said the demand was ‘reflection of an authoritarian mentality’.
“Today I see the police want to stay outside the home ministry. They want a police division, a bank. How many things do they want?” he asked.
The rejoinder from the police association said his comments were 'confusing, illogical and propaganda against police'.
It said police wanted to run bank and medical college to support families of the force's injured or deceased members.
