Apart from Bangla and English, the book is also available in Urdu and Japanese.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, along with translator Chai Xi, former Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, released the translated version of the book at Ganabhaban on Thursday.

Hasina on the occasion said that the autobiography is an important document for the history of Bangladesh and the subcontinent.

She thanked Chai Xi and his team for their efforts.

Hasina said Bangabandhu’s China visits in 1952 and 1957 were mentioned in the ‘unfinished memoir’.

She noted that a separate book elaborating those visits will soon be published.

Chai Xi said, “PM Sheikh Hasina during her 2014 China visit suggested that I should translate the book.”
“I think I took part in a noble work,” he added.
Bangladesh’s founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s personal diary hit the stands in a book form in 2012 in both Bangla ‘Ausamapta Atmajiboni’ and English ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’.
Bangabandhu penned this during his time in jail from 1967-69.
There he described the context of writing it, and his lineage, birth and childhood, days in school and college, and his social and political involvements.
This great leader also chronicled the historical events he experienced standing in the forefront – famine, communal riots in Kolkata and Bihar, partition, Pakistan central government's discriminatory attitude and the Agartala conspiracy, among others.
