Police seize 250 gold bars in Chittagong, customs confiscate 33kg at Dhaka airport

Police in Chittagong have confiscated three chests and found 250 gold bars in one of them.

A total of Tk 6 million was found in another chest and nothing in the other, they say.
 
A team of Detective Branch raided Bahar Market at Tamakumundi Lane and seized the chests from two rooms on Monday night.
 
One of the rooms was under CCTV camera surveillance, bdnews24.com Correspondent Uttam Sen Gupta said from the scene.
 
He said he saw police seize documents and computer hard disks from the rooms.
 
The residents of the building said one Abu Ahmad had rented the rooms to store footwear and bags.
 

DB Assistant Commissioner Babul Aktar said the money was found in 60 bundles of Tk 1,000 notes.
33kg gold seized at Dhaka airport
Customs officials have seized several gold bars weighing 32.7 kilograms at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Customs Assistant Commissioner Shahiduzzaman Sarker told bdnews24.com the haul was found under a seat in a Malindo Air aircraft.
