He was speaking at a press conference at BICC convention hall in Dhaka’s Agargaon on Tuesday afternoon.

Palak said, “Six buses will accommodate modern training labs. The buses will travel across the country with instructors to provide training to educated women.”

The Bangladesh government’s ICT department, telecommunication operator Robi and China’s ICT solution service provider organisation Huawei Bangladesh Limited will jointly conduct the services, he added.

The ICT department has already trained 50,000 youth of the country under several projects to turn them into skilled human resources, Palak said.

Elaborating on various development activities of ITC, the minister said 17 textbooks of class one to five have been converted into eBooks to make learning pleasant and fun.

“We have plans to release these books in March,” he noted.

The state minister also mentioned several initiatives undertaken by his department, notably the ICT Policy 2015, Digital Security ACT 2016 and National e-Service Act 2016.

Under Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor Sajib Wajed Joy’s supervision, the ICT department has emerged as a dynamic department of the government, Palak added.

A project to digitise the judiciary system by 2018 is also in the pipeline, he said.

“10,000 people wait in the court premises every day. Three million cases await settlement. Once this project is completed, cases can be settled faster than before,” the minister said.
