Five Jamaat men held with Tk 10mn in Dhaka
Police have arrested five Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists including a “rukon” of the party with more than Tk 10 million during a raid in Dhaka’s Banasree.

Rampura police OC Rafiqul Islam said police conducted the drive on a house in Road No. 6 of Banasree Residential Area’s Block B on Saturday afternoon.
One arrestee was identified as Jamaat’s rukon and accounts in-charge ‘Giasuddin’. The others were Aminur Rahman, Abul Hasem, Osman Gani and Shahdatur Rahman.
OC Islam said the arrestees were planning to provide funds to Jamaat members to carry out acts of sabotage on Jan 5.
He added that they will question the five and try to trace others involved with them.
