President leaves for Singapore

President Md Abdul Hamid has left for Singapore to get his eyes treated and for a general health check-up.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying him took off from Dhaka at 10:30am on Tuesday.

The president is scheduled to fly back home on Dec 5, said his Press Secretary Md Mahmudul Hasan.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Diplomatic Corps’ Dean Robert Gibson, also the UK high commissioner in Dhaka, among others, saw him off at Shahjalal International Airport.

Hamid will be visiting National Eye Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital for the treatment and check-up.
