Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has elected Jamal Uddin as its president and Raju Ahmed as general secretary.

The Daily Ittefaq’s Special Correspondent Uddin bagged 639 votes to defeat current DRU President Daily Inqilab’s Shakhawat Hossain Badsha, who got 366 votes.
Gazi TV Chief Reporter Ahmed got 477 votes to be elected general secretary. Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha’s Mursalin Nomani was only one vote behind.
Of the 1,271 DRU members, 1,031 cast their votes from 9am to 5pm on Monday.
Chief Election Commissioner and Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar announced the results at 8pm.
