In its verdict on Thursday, the court of Dhaka District and Sessions Judge SM Quddus ordered death sentences for the convicts.

Those to hang on being found guilty of the murders are Suman, Jakaria Hossain Jony, Suman alias CNG Suman and Md Nasiruddin.

The court acquitted another accused, Afsana Akter, wife of convict Suman, of the charges.

On Sep 25, 2014, the bodies of CNG driver Saju Ahmed, 35, his wife Razia Begum, 26, son Imran and daughter Sanzida were recovered from their home at Dhaka’s Keraniganj.

Investigations revealed that Saju Ahmed and the convicts were members of a robbers’ gang.

Police said the gruesome killings were a sequel to a feud among the robbers over their shares of loot.

Police pressed charges against the five suspects after their arrests within two months of the murders.

The trial concluded on Nov 16 this year, when the court set Thursday to deliver its verdict.
