Christian priest in Dinajpur threatened with death by Dec 20
A week after the shooting of Italian priest Piero Parolari in Dinajpur, another priest in the northern district has been threatened with death.

Father Carlos Babu Totyo of a catholic church at Chawkbenarasi in Birganj Upazila’s Nijparha Union, some 35 kilometres from Dinajpur town, received the threat in a text message on his mobile phone on Wednesday.
Birganj Police Station OC Jahangir Hossain told bdnews24.com the SMS was purportedly sent by the Islamic State.
It threatened him to kill within Dec 20.
Islamic State has reportedly claimed the attack on Father Parolari in front of Mirzapur BRTC depot in Dinajpur on Nov 18.
OC Hossain said he met Father Totyo on hearing of the news of the threat.
He said the SMS, received at 7:55pm, read, “Father Carlos, take Salam from IS. You will be killed within December 20 following order from the organisation, whether you stay in Nijparha or Dinajpur. Eat whatever you want.”
Sister ‘Alo’ of the church said the missionaries in the church were ‘in panic’ following the threat.
