Rajib Sen Prince, Chittagong bureau reporter of Mohona TV, has been taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Prince said a microbus they were travelling in came under attack around 11:30am on Sunday.

War criminal Salauddin’s body was taken to Gahira village after following his execution after midnight. He was buried at his family graveyard.

The Mohona TV reporter had gone there to cover the development and so had other many other journalists.

“Several youths blocked our way as we were coming back. They vandalised the vehicle and opened fire when we protested against it,” Prince said.

“I have been shot in the leg,” he told bdnews24.com.

Hathazari circle’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Moshiuddoula Reza said he had not received any complaint.

Witnesses said several vehicles belonging to TV channels and news agencies had passed through the area. But the attackers seemed to have singled out Mohona TV, they said.

Mohona TV’s cameraman Limon, who was in the vehicle during the incident, said, “The attackers pounced on us without saying anything. They probably belong to the local Awami League or Chhatra League unit.”

But the Upazila’s Chhatra League unit has denied its involvement.
