The former state minister for home was sent to Dhaka around 8:30am on Saturday, Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 Subrata Kumar Bala told bdnews24.com.
“He has to appear before a number of courts in different cases. As he was facing problems to travel, he prayed to a court for arranging his treatment.”
“We sent him to Shahid Tazuddin Medical College Hospital in Gazipur on Monday to get his health report,” Subrata said.
A four-member medical board was formed that day and they found the former BNP lawmaker was suffering from spinal, respiratory and stomach complications, said Abdus Salam, a resident doctor of the hospital.
The doctors advised he be shifted to the DMCH as the Gazipur hospital did not have sufficient facilities for Babar’s treatment, Dr Salam added.
