BNP leader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mujahid are currently lodged in Dhaka Central Jail.

The prison authorities will read out the verdicts to the convicts when they reach the jail and ask them if they will seek mercy from the president.

The government will go ahead with the executions if the convicts refuse to ask for mercy or if the president rejects their prayer.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha headed the four-strong bench that dismissed their petitions.

The other members of the bench were Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.
They signed the verdicts shortly before the publication on Thursday afternoon.
The copies of the verdict have been sent to International Crimes Tribunal that had originally sentenced them to death.
The tribunal will send the copies to the district magistrate and the jail authorities.
The Supreme Court has also sent the copies to the law and home ministries, and the attorney general.
