Appellate Division Registrar Zakir Hossain had told bdnews 24.com on Thursday evening that the verdicts were published and would be sent to the tribunal shortly.

Later, Additional Registrar Arunav Chakrabarty and some other officials took the copies of the verdicts to the tribunal at around 7:30pm.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said the tribunal will send the copies of the verdicts to jail.

BNP leader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mujahid are currently lodged in Dhaka Central Jail.

The prison authorities will read out the verdicts to the convicts when they reach the jail from the ICT and ask them if they will seek mercy from the president.

The government will go ahead with the executions if the convicts refuse to ask for mercy or if the president rejects their prayer.

The tribunal will also send the copies to the district magistrate.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha headed the four-strong bench that dismissed their petitions.

The other members of the bench were Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.

They signed the verdicts shortly before the publication on Thursday afternoon.

The Supreme Court has also sent the copies to the law and home ministries, and the attorney general.
