Four burnt in Narayanganj fire

Four of a family have been injured in a gas explosion at a house in Narayanganj, police say.

The injured are Monir Hossain, his wife ‘Meena’, and their sons ‘Minhaz’ and one ‘Rimon’. They have been taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Fatullah Model Police Station’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Sharfuddin said the incident took place on Thursday morning in Talla area.

The explosion took place as soon as Monir’s wife lit the oven.

Sharfuddin said the kitchen was badly damaged in the explosion.

“We suspect they did not turn off the gas line last night,” he said.
