Trains resume on Rangpur-Dinajpur route

Rangpur and Dinajpur’s rail links to the rest of Bangladesh was restored about nine hours after a train rammed into a truck at a level-crossing in Natore.

The Rangpur Express crashed into a goods-laden truck on Monday night, leaving two injured.

A compartment of the train went off the track, disrupting the rail links.

Natore Station Master Ashok Kumar said train services resumed around 10am on Tuesday after the derailed compartment was removed.

Fire service officials rescued the two injured persons and admitted them to the Natore Sadar Hospital, but their injuries were not serious.
