Five policemen, informant charged with murder in Jessore

Six people, five of them policemen of Jessore Sadar Police Station, have been formally charged with picking up a man from his home before killing him.

Enamul Hossain was whisked away by the accused 10 days ago from his house at Sadar Upazila’s Ichhali village, according to a criminal case.
 
His wife Shiuli Begum lodged the case at Jessore’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Hakim’s court on Tuesday.
 
The judge ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate and submit their findings in court.
 
The accused are Ichhali police outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Tapan Kumar Biswas, Assistant SI ‘Rasel’, constables ‘Ibrahim’ and ‘Shahid’, Khajura police outpost In-Charge SI Masudur Rahman and informant ‘Arun’.
 
According to case details, the accused picked Enamul Hossain at around 3am on Oct 10.
 
His body, riddled with wounds, was found in Jhenaidah’s Baro Bazar area later in the morning.
 
Shiuli Begum accused the six of dumping her husband’s body there after murdering him.
