Police said the lynching was reported around 3am on Tuesday during an attempted ‘robbery’ in Leshiara Village.
The dead, not yet to be identified, were between 20 and 25 years of age.
“A gang of robbers attacked the house of one Jamir Uddin, but were outnumbered by angry villagers who retaliated in strength. Two robbers were nabbed and beaten up while the rest fled,” Koshba police OC Md Mohiuddin Ahmed told bdnews24.com, quoting locals.
