The railways ministry informed the members of the committee about the matter in a meeting on Thursday.

MP Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury placed the proposal in August to visit systems of the developed countries, including Japan, for the sake of railways development.

Panel chief ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury said, “There is nothing to do if they (finance ministry) do not allocate money.

“But there is inequality in allocations by the Finance Division,” he added.

The meeting also discussed a plan to launch Dhaka-Chittagong electronic train service.
