Police nab two ‘thieves’ stealing motorcycles in Gopalganj

Gopalganj police claim that one of its patrol was ‘attacked with bombs’ while chasing thieves stealing motorcycles early on Thursday.

Police have detained two persons; one of them shot after the law enforcers opened fire.
 
“Four men, fleeing on two motorbikes, hurled bombs at police, but none of our men was injured as they missed,” Sadar police OC Selim Reza told bdnews24.com.
 
He said the police opened fire when one of the motorbikes lost control and fell on the road.
 
One of the riders, identified as Sobhan Molla, was shot. He is being treated at the Khulna Medical College and Hospital.
 
The other who has been detained is Ashik Gazi.
 
Police have been raiding different areas of Gopalganj district over the last few days in a crackdown against motorbike thieves, said OC Reza.
