Thirty-year-old Samiul Kabir Prottoy had left his job at the ABC Radio a month ago. His family suspects he suffered a ‘cerebral stroke’.

Prottoy used to live with his mother and brother in an apartment at Mirpur’s Shiyalbarhi. The body was recovered around 11:30am on Friday, said Rupnagar police OC Rezaul Hasan.

“The body had no injury marks, but it bled from the nose,” he told bdnews24.com.

Quoting family members, the police officer said that Prottoy’s father died the same way ten years ago.

“His mother and brother think that he suffered a stroke. The body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy,” he added.

One of Prottoy’s former colleagues at ABC Radio told bdnews24.com that he used to have two shows at the station.

“He had left the job a month ago, but used to drop in at the station often. He was here even two days ago,” the colleague said, preferring anonymity.
