Met office forecasts low, cyclone in October

One or two lows might form in the Bay of Bengal in October and one of them could turn in to a cyclone, says the Met office in its forecast for the month.

Meteorological Department Director Md Shah Alam told bdnews24.com that the monsoon winds in Bangladesh might end by early this month and rainfalls may decrease.

According to the latest weather bulletin, monsoon winds have already receded in most parts of Bangladesh except in the South.

In September, they had caused mid to heavy rainfall across the country. But there has been no rain since Sep 24 with the temperature shifting between 33 and 35 degree Celsius.

The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded in Chandpur at 36.7 degree Celsius.

The forecast for the next 24 hours says, temperature might drop a little in Southern Bangladesh but will remain unchanged in other parts of the country.
