The UN agency on Wednesday said the Bangladesh planning commission approved last month a “no cost” project extension until September 2016.
Key focus areas will be livelihoods and food security, sustainable management of Village Common Forests and Reserved Forests, and improved governance and social cohesion.
“The extension will enable the vital work happening under our projects to continue for another year,” Henrik Fredborg Larsen, Director of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Facility, UNDP Bangladesh, was quoted as saying in a statement.
“This is good news for all CHT stakeholders”.
