Eight injured after snapped live wire falls on ‘Leguna’ in Dhaka

A live wire snapped and fell on a passing human-hauler in Dhaka City’s Mohammadpur, injuring several passengers, four of whom are women, police say.

Eight of them were sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital after the mishap near Krishi Market
around 11am on Friday, Tejgaon police’s Deputy Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar said.

“Hospital authorities say four of them are in critical condition,” he added.

Several others were given first aid.

The injured could not be identified immediately.

Fire Service control room official Brajen Kumar said firemen went to the site, but people from power authorities had already removed the wire.
