Advance rail tickets for Eid-ul-Azha will be available from Sep 15

Bangladesh Railway will sell advance tickets for intercity trains to Eid-ul-Azha holidaymakers from Sep 15.

Railways Minister Mazibul Haque announced the schedule of the sale at a press conference on Thursday.
 
He said the holidaymakers would be able to buy the advance tickets of five days.
 
The tickets of Sep 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 would be sold on Sep 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 respectively.
 
The sale would begin from 9am every day.
 
As usual, one person would be able to buy only four non-refundable tickets, Haque told the media briefing.
 
After the Eid, people would be able to buy the advance return tickets at the major railway stations including the ones in Dhaka and Chittagong.
 
The tickets of Sep 27, 28, 29, 30 and Oct 1 would be sold on Sep 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 respectively.
 
The advance return tickets would also be available at Rajshahi, Khulna, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat stations.
 
The railways minister said 10 special trains would run for three days before the Eid and seven days after the holidays end to cope with the rush.
 
He said the weekly off for the inter-city trains from Sep 20 until the day before Eid stood cancelled to ensure trouble-free journey of the holidaymakers.
 
Bangladesh Railway was also prepared to tackle any accident or acts of sabotage during the holiday rush, Haque added.
