Vice Chancellor Prof Md Aminul Haque Bhuyan told bdnews24.com the proctorial body recommended their expulsion.

They are Dhani Ram Roy of Statistics, Abdullah Al Masum of Political Studies, Ariful Islam Arif and Jahid Hossain Nayeem of Forests and Environment.
The four are known to be followers of BCL’s SUST unit General Secretary Imran Khan.
During Sunday’s attack, they were seen with Abdul Baten Tonmoy, Arifur Rahman Rony, Abdus Salam Monju, Kamrul Islam, ‘Jewel’, Arifur Rahman Kennedy, Foysal Ahmed, ‘Tomal’ and ‘Jahid’.

Vice Chancellor Bhuyan said the four had been show-caused as well.

“We’ll take further steps against them based on the investigation committee’s recommendations,” he added.

The SUST has formed a committee to investigate attack on teachers seeking removal of the VC. It is also probing allegations of ‘attack on the VC‘ and barring him from entering his office.

BCL leader Khan distanced himself from the four saying they were not his followers.

“We want the university to take actions against those who attacked [the teachers],” Khan said.

The ruling Awami League’s student affiliate on Monday night temporarily expelled three SUST leaders – university unit senior vice-presidents Abu Sayeed Akanda and Anjan Roy and Senior Joint General Secretary Sajedul Islam Sabuj.
