Three die in Narayanganj truck-ambulance collision

An ambulance collided with a truck on Wednesday, leaving three, including the patient it was carrying, dead.

A sand-laden truck rammed into the ambulance on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway around 8am in Naryanganj’s Rupganj Upazila, said police.
 
The accident left two passengers of the ambulance dead on the spot while the other later died at a local hospital, said Kanchpur highway police’s Sub Inspector Saiful Islam.
                                     
The dead have been identified as Sayeed Mollah, 70, his son Nayan Mollah, 37, and the ambulance driver’s assistant Raja Hossain, 18.
 
Mollah’s other son Ali Ahmed and the ambulance’s driver had been admitted to a nearby clinic in Bhulta by the locals, said police.
