Those charged with the murder include Mohammed Sharif, owner of the workshop where Rakib worked, and his mother Beauty Begum. Sharif's uncle Mintu Mia is the third accused in the chargesheet.

The 190-page chargesheet was filed by case investigating officer SI Kazi Mostak Ahmed on Tuesday in the court of Khulna Chief Metropolitan Magistrate LMD Mesbah Uddin.

On Aug 3, Rakib Hawladar died after a high-pressure air pump nozzle was inserted  into his rectum and his body filled with air at a motorcycle repair workshop in Tutupara, severely injuring his internal organs.

The post-mortem report testified to this brutal form of torture that led to the murder.

The 12-year old boy later died at the Khulna Medical College and Hospital.

Locals caught workshop owner ‘Sharif’, 35, his uncle Mintu Mia, 40 and Sharif's mother Beauty Begum, 55.

Rakib's father Nurul Alam Hawlader filed a case of murder in Khulna Sadar police station.

The three accused have already given confessional statements before the court.

Mostak Ahmed said that 40 witnesses have been lined up to back up the charges.

Khulna Metropolitan Police’s Commissioner Nibas Chandra Majhi said they monitored the case closely classifying it as sensitive.

"Rakib, while working in Sharif's workshop, suffered exploitation including pay cuts and physical torture. When he left the work, the angry workshop owner and his relatives planned his murder," Majhi said.
