Police nab key suspect in Mahila League leader Kohinoor murder

Police have arrested Najma Akhter Nayan, the key accused in the case over the murder of Chandpur’s Mohila Awami League leader Kohinoor Begum.

Chandpur’s Superintendent of Police Shamsunnahar said she was picked up from Gunrajdi area in the early hours of Tuesday. 
Nayan’s house-help Rafiq Bhuiyan, also accused in the case, was picked up on Monday evening from Launchghat area, she added. 
Kohinoor was murdered on Saturday night at Rahmatpur Colony. Her brother Abdul Malek Mohan filed a case against six with Chandpur Sadar police. 
Others named in the case are Nayan’s husband Alamgir Hossain, 48, and her three brothers, Abdur Razzak Dhali, 48, Fazal Dhali, 50, and Harunur Rashid, 43. All the four are absconding.   
Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station’s OC AH Enayet Uddin said they were trying to nab the absconders for some time now.
