The High Court had earlier declared the trial court’s cognisance of the charges pressed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) against the former minister as legal.

Moudud moved the Appellate Division against it and on Sunday, the four-member bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha heard the matter.

It stayed the proceedings of the case until Aug 30 and ordered the BNP Standing Committee member to file a ‘leave to appeal’ petition.

The former minister represented himself during the hearing while Khurshid Alam Khan argued for the ACC.

“The appeals court will hear the matter on Aug 30”, Khan told bdnews24.com.
