The two others are Asif Adnan, the son of a former High Court judge, and Fazle Elahi Tanzil, the son of a former joint secretary.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Haque forwarded the chargesheet to Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrates Court on Monday, court police Sub-Inspector Mahmudur Rahman told bdnews24.com.

The CMM Court will now send it to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court for trial.

The chargesheet was filed on July 23 but bdnews24.com came to know about it on Monday.

SI Rahman said the investigator recommended dropping names of five others from the case lodged under the Anti-terrorism Act, as he could not find their correct names and addresses.

They are ‘Zulkarnine’, Md Jaber, Abu Naina, Abdul Karim and ‘Abdullah’.

Investigator, Detective Branch Inspector Aslam Sheikh, said in the chargesheet that a supplementary chargesheet would be submitted if their correct names and addresses were found.

A case was filed against Hamdan under the Anti-terrorism Act after he was arrested in Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station on Sept 28 last year.

Police said he took part in the so-called jihad in Syria from September to December in 2013 as a member of the Nusra Brigade.

Adnan was held from his Segunbagicha house and Tanzil from Eskaton on Sept 24. Police said they were also involved with Ansarullah Bangla Team.

Adnan will be out on bail he secured from the High Court until police submitted the report.

SI Rahman said Adnan surrendered to Metropolitan Magistrate Haque’s court on Monday and had the bail extended until the case’s next proceedings.

Police alleged in the chargesheet the three tried to strengthen militant organisations like Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh and Ansarullah Bangla Team.
