Gas-pipe burst in Jurain burns three members of a family 

A family of three in Dhaka’s Jurain have been burnt in a fire caused by a gas-pipe burst.

Police said the incident in Tulabagicha took place around 1:30am on Monday.

“Locals had brought in the 40-year-old Khorshed Alam, his wife Jahura Begum, 30, and their six-year-old son Rifat Hossain,” ASI Sentu Das of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s police camp said. 

Their rescuers had said the three had been burnt when their gas connection caught fire, said the police officer.  
They were admitted to the burn unit, where the attending doctor Partha Shankar Pal said Alam had 28 percent burns, Hossain had six, and Jahura was also burnt. 
Fire Services Control Rooms Officer Mohammad Ali told bdnews24.com, “We received news of a gas-line fire in Jurain around 1:30am. But the fire service did not have to go.”
