Two minor girls raped in Dhaka within 24 hours
Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in the capital’s Rayerbazar hours after a nine-year-old was allegedly raped in Mirpur.

Hazaribagh police OC Mainul Islam said a couple complained to them on Sunday that their seven-year-old daughter was raped.
Police immediately raided Rayerbazar and arrested one ‘Khokon’, said the police officer.
The girl’s father is a rickshaw puller and the mother works as a maid. The couple found their daughter in blood after returning home on Saturday night.
“The girl told her parents that their neighbour Khokon was responsible,” said OC Islam.
In Mirpur, a couple filed a complaint with the police on Saturday night, alleging their nine-year-old daughter had been raped.
Mirpur Model Police Station’s Sub-inspector Md Zahid said the child was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical examination.
No one has been arrested over the incident.
