A spokesperson of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that they were arrested during a raid early on Tuesday in the capital’s Uttara.

One of the arrested, ‘Fahim’ is the acting chief of the militant outfit, said DMP Deputy Commissioner Muntasirul Islam.

“He is also the chief of JMB’s military wing in Mymensingh and Sylhet. His father Mawlana Saidur Rahman was also a JMB leader,” he told bdnews24.com.

Details of the raid will be made available in a media briefing later in the day, Islam said.

The JMB also developed 'active modules' in neighbouring West Bengal but an accidental blast in one of their secret bomb-making facility in October last year blew the lid on its activity.

Some of their top leaders have been arrested both in West Bengal and Bangladesh.

India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has said that they were getting much help from Bangladesh agencies in investigating the JMB networks.
