Police say they suspect the murder was a result of turf war between them.

Dohar Police Station OC Md Sirajul Islam said the murder took place at Raiparha village on Wednesday night.

The victim has been identified as ‘Bokul’, 29 and the suspected killers are ‘Rasel’ and his brother ‘Rakib.

They are absconding since the murder.

OC Islam said the brothers had an altercation with Bokul on Wednesday night.

At one point, Rasel ran home and came back with a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and belly.

Bokul died of excessive bleeding at the Upazila health centre, Medical Officer Yahya Mahmud Khan told bdnews24.com.

A case has been filed over the murder.

OC Islam said Bokul was at loggerheads with the brothers over control of the area.

“We suspect this rivalry as responsible for the killing,” he told bdnews24.com.
