Thursday morning’s mishap on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Sarail Upazila left at least three others injured, police say.

The victims are Darbesh Ali, 37, and Injamamul Huq, 25, a second-year honours student at Brhamanbarhia Government College.

A Sylhet-bound bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ ran over the autorickshaw, killing the two on the spot, Sub-Inspector Md Jahangir Alam of Hatihata highway police outpost said quoting locals.

He said the injured had been admitted to local hospitals.

The government has forbidden autorickshaws from plying the national highways as road crashes, involving three-wheelers, has been increasing alarmingly.
