Over the next 48 hours, most of Bangladesh may experience drizzle, but it may rain heavily afterwards, the weathermen say.

The Meteorological Department in its forecast says it might drizzle until Thursday but life might be hampered by heavy rains from Friday.

“The country saw moderate to heavy rains by the end of Asharh and the beginning of Sraban. But there is a little possibility of rain on Wednesday and Thursday,” senior weatherman Abul Kalam Mollick said.

In Dhaka, it rained 4 millimetres on Tuesday.

Bangladesh is now under the spell of monsoon now.

Mollick said it might drizzle in the next two days. “Many areas may see sunny weather. The rain may increase from July 23.”

The heavy rains may continue until the end of this month, he added.

According to the weather forecast for Wednesday, most areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, and many areas of Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience light to moderate rain with temporary gusty wind or thunderstorm.

Some areas of the country may see moderate to heavy rains.

In line with the forecast for July, there may be one or two seasonal low in the Bay of Bengal.

The Met office also said there might be flood in north, mid-north, or north-east of Bangladesh by the end of the month.
