Nur Mia and Dulal Mia gave confessional statements in the court of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Anwarul Haque on Tuesday.

Nur was the one who recorded Rajan’s murder and later released it on the internet. Like him, Dulal was also an accomplice of those who had beaten the 13-year-old boy to death.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police’s Assistant Commissioner (Prosecution) Abdul Ahad said the court ordered the two into jail.

Locals had caught Nur from the Jangail on July 15 and turned him over to police.

Police earlier arrested Dulal on the same day from Kumargaon’s Sheikhparha.

Next day, a Sylhet court had remanded both in seven days’ police custody.

AC Ahad said Nur and Dulal were presented before the magistrate on Tuesday as they had confessed to their crimes and agreed to record their statements in court.

So far, five, including these two, had given statements in the murder case, he added.

Witnesses Ajmat Ullah and Firoz Ali gave their statements on July 14.

Local watchman Moyna Mia, one of the main accused, confessed before the court on Monday.

The two other accused in the case are Muhit Alam and his brother Kamrul Islam, a Bangladeshi expatriate who worked in Saudi Arabia.

The locals had nabbed Muhit on the day of the murder at Kumargaon. Several days later, local police in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah detained Kamrul after the Bangladesh embassy there sought their help.

Moyna has been accused of masterminding Rajan’s killing.

Rajan was tortured to death on July 8 on charges of trying to steal a rickshaw van.

The boy’s relatives alleged that Moyna was a paedophile, who staged the incident having failed to have his way with Rajan.

The killers had filmed the entire incident and circulated it on the social media. The video clip went viral and triggered a huge uproar across Bangladesh.

Police, so far, have arrested 11 people over Rajan’s murder.
