Met office warns of more rains for Eid holidaymakers

Weathermen see no relief for rain-soaked Eid holidaymakers.

Kamrul Hasan, a senior meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told bdnews24.com light to moderate rain would continue for the next couple of days.

“It’ll subside only on Wednesday,” he said on Sunday, the day after the Eid when people usually throng parks and cinemas.

But because of the rain, those amusement hubs drew much fewer crowds than during previous Eids.

The Met office recorded 90 mm of rainfall in Dhaka on Sunday.

Meteorologist Hasan said the rainfall would prevail in almost all divisions.

Families that had left Dhaka to celebrate Eid in their village and town homes would start returning on Monday.

But they had no great cause for worry, as the wind was not strong enough to disrupt their journeys.
