Police arrest CP Gang member for offensive Facebook posts
Rajshahi police have arrested a member of a pro-government online platform, CP Gang, for making offensive remark about another person on his Facebook posts.

Arup Ratan Pal was arrested from CP Gang’s office at Dhaka’s Rampura on Tuesday early morning and was taken to Rajshahi’s Charaghat, Charaghat police’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Khairul Islam said.
The 27-year-old hails from Moulvibazar’s Srimangal Upazila.
“Arup (Pal) was arrested in a case filed by one Tapash Sarker. He is the admin of Facebook page named CP Gang,” SI Islam, who is in-charge of the investigation, told bdnews24.com.
On May 24, Sarker filed a case under the ICT Act with Charaghat police accusing Pal of harassing him by making ‘offensive, defamatory and false’ posts on Facebook.
“Arup during initial interrogations has claimed that the Facebook account used for posting comments against Tapash (Sarker) was not his. But the phone number on that page was his. We sought a five-day remand for further questioning,” said the police officer.
