His weapon and 84 rounds of ammunition were found abandoned in the jungles near the Kabakhali Choudhury Parha Camp at Dighinala, said Superintendant of Police (SP) Md Mojid Ali.

Hill Ansar Nayek Amir Hasan was shot dead at the camp on Friday.

His colleague Rafiqul Islam is accused of the murder in a case filed with Dighinala Police, OC Shahadat Hossain Titu told bdnews24.com.

The suspect hails from Balitala village of Matiranga Upazila.

Police, soldiers and locals are trying to find the suspect, said SP Mojid on Saturday.

“We’re trying to locate him by tracing his cell phone. Hopefully, we’ll find him and get to know of his motive for murder.”

The joint force found the weapons and ammunition in the woods around 11:30am, he said.

Rafiqul shot Amir in the middle of an argument, the victim’s son Farid Miah has told reporters.
